MOONLIGHT LADY (NEC HOME ELECTRONICS)

SUPER CD-ROM 2 (JAPANESE VERSION)

Action-RPG produced by NEC Home Electronics, Moonlight Lady is a damn funny game, with some of the most hilarious animated sequences ever made on the PC-ENGINE! The plot itself isnīt exactly original or attractive: you control the heroines Artemis, Aquarius and Minerva (the so-called "Moonlight Ladies") and, with the help of a talking red bird (!!) named Nick, you must destroy the evil Gargoyle, the bad guy who wants to rule the world. ^_^"

The main characters are, of course, pure cliché: Artemis is the typical "clown" heroine, clumsy and a cry-baby, Aquarius is the clever and balanced girl, while Minerva is the powerful ruffian! ^_^" But, honestly, Iīm pretty sure wonīt bother at all with silly characters and a dull main plot, while playing such a funny game! ^_^

Being such a easy game, Moonlight Lady is an Action-RPG recommended even if you donīt understand a single word in Japanese. The game itself give you some orientations about which actions are allowed at that very moment, and such guidance are of great help, in order to avoid the player to become completely lost. Some tips: itīs worth to talk to the same characters more than once... sometimes, those extra talks can provide you some important items; itīs highly recommended as well to explore every single room, as long as you can, in order to collect important new objects.

Moonlight Lady kinda reminds the games Exile and Exile II, because its action scenes are completely separated from the RPG scenes. There are lots of mirthful surprises as long as you evolve along the game... pay attention to the unique robot battle that happens in the middle of your quest: quite surrealistic! ^^"

The most enerving aspect of Moonlight Lady is related to the bosses, which takes a REALLY, REALLY long time to get killed! And the crystal stage, neat the end of the game, can be considered one of the most unbearable stages off all-time... AGHKKK!!

Nevertheless, Moonlight Lady is still a cool game. With amazing graphics, a bunch of excellent anime sequences, good musics and an "easy-to-get" gameplay, Moonlight Lady is a great option for those who are fond of Action-RPGīs, but are also afraid of playing them entirely in Japanese.
